North Fulton Regional Hospital’s Health Information Management (HIM) Team was honored in June as the best HIM department in the Tenet Corporation as it relates to Key Measures and Quality Indicators for Fiscal year to date 2007. The prestigious award was presented to the Health Information Management Team by the HIM Leadership at the First Annual Tenet HIM Directors Conference, held in Dallas, TX.

     “This award commends the department’s ability to perform well as a team and really speaks volumes about the associates working in the HIM Department,” said Anne Read, Director of Health Information Management at North Fulton Regional Hospital.

     Of the 63 core, acute care hospitals that operate under Tenet’s leadership, North Fulton Regional Hospital is the only facility to receive this recognition for the year 2007. In order to be considered for this type of praise, a hospital’s Health Information Management Team must maintain high standards and consistent performance in all HIM practices.     

     “The North Fulton Regional Hospital HIM Department has consistently been a top performing operation with the best year-to-date results through May month end,” said Jack Highsmith, National Health Information Management Operations Director for Tenet. Highsmith presented the award to North Fulton Regional Hospital’s Anne Reed among the gathering of HIM Directors at the national conference.     

     The theme of the conference was “Ensuring Quality Performance,” which is consistent with Tenet’s ongoing efforts to improve HIM operations company-wide. According to Highsmith, “our goal at the conference was to educate and inform.”     

     Jon Zilkow, Chief Financial Officer for North Fulton Regional Hospital, oversees the Health Information Management Department and recognizes the high standards set by those team members.     

     "The department consistently exceeds some very challenging company metrics for monthly and annual performance,” Zilkow said. “They do so while providing an environment of superior customer service to patients, physicians and hospital employees.”     

     North Fulton Regional Hospital (NFRH), part of Tenet Georgia, is a 167-bed, acute-care hospital located on Highway 9, Alpharetta Highway, in Roswell.
