The volunteers at North Fulton Regional Hospital prove time and time again to be invaluable members of the hospital team. Helping in virtually every area of the hospital, from Emergency/Trauma to Women’s Health to Reception, the volunteers contribute each day to North Fulton Regional Hospital’s high standard of care.
Each year the hospital gets the opportunity to formally thank the volunteers for all they contribute to NFRH. On April 26, volunteers and hospital representatives gathered at the Marriott to recognize volunteers for their years of service. Many received pins for hours served and new name badges for years served.
New to the banquet this year were recognition watches for those volunteers who have served twenty years or more and have continued to work active shifts. Pat Oxford, a dedicated volunteer of over twenty years and a recipient of a watch, also received a pin for 27,500 hours of service.
Beyond the services volunteers provide within the hospital is their work that affects the community. Each year the volunteers award approximately $25,000 in college scholarships. Anyone in the community pursuing a career in the medical field is eligible for one of these awards, and funds can be put toward tuition, books, lab fees or uniforms.
This year, 21 scholarships were awarded for the 2007-2008 school year. The recipients for the awards are:
