In addition to the various community education classes offered, North Fulton Regional Hospital also provides health care professionals the ability to participate in educational classes. Two opportunities available through the hospital are Healthcare Provider CPR and the BLS Instructor Course.
CPR is a certification most health care professionals must have current in order to continue to provide services in a patient setting. North Fulton Regional Hospital offers the American Heart Association CPR course on Saturdays every other month at a nominal fee. Upon successful completion, the participant will have certification for two years. For more information or to register for a class, call 770-751-2660.
North Fulton Regional Hospital also provides healthcare professionals the opportunity to teach. As a result of taking the Basic Life Support Instructor Course, an individual will be equipped to teach both Healthcare Provider CPR and Heartsaver CPR (intended for the community). The class involves one day of online coursework (to be completed prior to the in-class day) and one full day in class at North Fulton Regional Hospital; the only pre-requisite is a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
The certification as a BLS Instructor is good as long as you teach the required number of courses (four every two years) and maintain your CPR updates. For more information about this opportunity, please call the Community Education Coordinator at 770-410-4390. The next class offering will be January 23, 2008.
