NFRH Food Drive Enthusiasts Janine Pass and Mike O'Hare man the "weigh station"

Rain or shine, employees of North Fulton Regional Hospital know how to unite behind a common goal. The hospital celebrates another Feed the Need food drive success with more than 3 tons of food collected. All items collected will benefit North Fulton Community Charities.

As an active steward in the community, North Fulton Regional Hospital is proud to pool its resources to benefit local organizations. This year’s food drive was open to all employees and active physicians of the hospital as well as to members of the community who wished to donate food items.

Tagging on to the success of past food drives, the hospital participated in another friendly, yet heated, competition. The 25th Anniversary Race to Feed the Need featured teams lead by members of the administrative team, each vying to cross the finish line first. Every employee was assigned a team, which fostered spirit and excitement hospital-wide. Armed with brown grocery bags provided by Harry’s Farmers Market, employees were encouraged to raid their cabinets, their shelves and their local grocery stores to help stock North Fulton Community Charities ahead of the busy summer months.

On Friday, the final day of the drive, collection took place behind the hospital alongside the annual Hospital Week Picnic. With email updates coming through on an almost hourly basis showing the team standings, there was no shortage of drive or ambition to win. Chief Financial Officer Wes James, the newest member to the administrative team, had reason to gloat as his team, James’ Jaguars, beat the rest with more than 2,500 pounds. There was an impressive, last-minute comeback, however, for Business Development Officer Ron Henry’s team. Henry’s Hummers managed an inspiring move from last place all the way to second. By the end of the day, North Fulton Regional Hospital had amassed more than 6,000 pounds of non-perishable food items.

In addition to the items collected during the food drive, North Fulton Regional Hospital, presented a check for $5,000 to North Fulton Community Charities.
