Caregivers exist at every level at North Fulton Regional Hospital. Not simply limited to the many doctors who provide services day in and day out, this group also includes the countless nurses and support staff who give of their time and energies to help ensure that each patient receives the best care possible.
This National Nurses’ Week and National Hospital and Healthcare Week, May 6-12, we recognized the many ways that nurses and other healthcare workers make a difference in the lives they touch each day.
The week began with a bang as employees hospital-wide enjoyed relaxing back massages, providing our caregivers the opportunity to be cared for! Each day included various appreciation activities, including raffles and deliveries of special “treats.” The week culminated with a Nursing Excellence Ceremony where nurses and support staff gained recognition for their unwavering dedication and devotion to their roles at North Fulton Regional Hospital.
Chosen to be Clinical Support Staff Member of the Year for 2008 is Nanette Kemmerly, a dedicated employee in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit. Nanette’s peers describe her as treating “each patient like they were her own family member.” She is also known to be laughing always, work well with others, and always on the go. A testament to how a patient-centered caregiver should behave, Nanette “really gets to know about her patients – their personal needs – so she can plan her care around them.” |

Every staff member was encouraged to take time out of their Friday to support the food drive effort and enjoy some much deserved downtime away from their respective departments. Many seized this opportunity for some fun and good food, and in the end, the teams collected more than 3 tons of food.
