   Cardiovascular Services

     Cardiovascular health is essential to your well-being, and we at North Fulton Regional Hospital recognize the importance of quality cardiovascular services.  We offer a variety of programs and services to cater to your needs as a patient at our facility.

     For over 20 years, North Fulton Regional Hospital has provided comprehensive programs and services dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions.  We are committed to providing the most advanced technology in the market today, quality care, and highly skilled personnel to treat the unique cardiovascular needs of our patients. 

Cardiac Catheterization

     A cardiac catheterization is a non surgical test your doctor will perform by inserting a very narrow, soft, flexible plastic tube called a catheter, through a blood vessel and into your heart. The catheter will allow x-ray pictures of your heart to be taken to show how well your heart is working.  For more information, please call the catheterization lab at 770-751-2782.  

Cardiac Rehabilitation

     Cardiac Rehabilitation offers outpatient cardiac rehabilitation services for people recovering from heart attack or chest pain or for those who are at high risk for cardiac disease. A team of professionals focus on aspects of a patient’s physical and emotional well being. The team works with patients to design a personalized education program of recovery that includes exercise nutrition, weight control, smoking cessation and emotional support. Cardiac Rehab is located on the second floor of the main hospital building. For more information, contact the program coordinator at 770-751-2785.  

Cardiology Services

     Dedicated physicians and staff provide non-invasive services with the latest technology for the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease.  Thousands of diagnostic tests are performed each year, including nuclear medicine, echocardiograms, ultrasounds and EKGs. 

Cardiology Services provides a wide array of diagnostic services including: 
  • Cardiac catheterization laboratory including Permanent Pacemakers, Elective Cardioversions,Transesophageal Echocardiograms and Diagnostic Left and Right Heart Catheterizations;
  • Echocardiogram, Stress Echocardiogram Treadmill, Contrast enhanced echocardiograms, Transesophageal Echocardiograms, Signal Average EKG, 12-lead EKG, 24 hour Holter Monitoring, Treadmill Stress Testing, and Tilt Table Studies;
  • Nuclear Cardiology Thallium imaging stress-testing including: Adenosine, Dobutamine, and Persantine;
  • Electroencephalogram (EEG).

Cardiopulmonary Services                                                                                                              

     Respiratory and cardiac services are available around the clock throughout the hospital.  For more information, please call 770-751-2667.  

Vascular Services

     The Vascular Program is expanding with the recent addition of a new Vascular/Endovascular Surgeon and an innovative imaging angiography system.  We are now better able than ever to meet your vascular needs.   

 Board-certified physicians use advanced technologies and procedures to treat a wide range of cardiovascular conditions:
  • Vascular Surgery - Aortic Surgery, Carotid Surgery, Femora Popliteal Bypass, Thoracic Outlet Decompression, Renal and Mesenteric Surgery and Aneurysm Repair
  • Endovascular Surgery - Carotid Stent, Aortic Stent graph, Iliac, Femoral and Popliteal Stent, Fox Hollow and Laser Atherectomy, Renal and Mesenteric Stent and Thoracic Stent Graft
  • Venous Surgery - Vena Cava Filter, Varicose and Spider Vein Sclerotherapy and laser Venous Ablation
